For anyone who has conducted market research for their business, they know that finding the right data can be tricky. As we discussed in an earlier blog on the importance of market research, there are two main types of research, primary and secondary, with primary begin the research you conduct yourself, and secondary being the research that already exists and has relevance to what you are trying to accomplish. There are many avenues one can go down to obtain secondary research, but Statistics Canada is one of the more popular options when it comes to finding relevant data.

For anyone who has tried to pull data from Statistics Canada, they know that finding the proper data and navigating that website can be a bit tricky. That’s why Stats Canada is offering a free webinar on how to properly navigate their website! The webinar gives you a tour of the website, instruct you on how to search the data and show you how to download that data. During this webinar, you will:

  • Explore the main sections of the website, including The Daily, Key Indicators, Information and Services, and Features
  • Browse data by subject
  • Access data, analytical products and reference materials through searching, sorting and filters
  • Find information by geography
  • Customize retrieved data

The webinar will be held on Thursday, January 24, 10:00am – 11:00am, and again is FREE of charge.
