If you’re an employer in B.C. that is struggling to find and keep the right employees, it may be due to the labour market issues currently affecting the whole province. The BC Chamber of Commerce and the provincial government have recently worked together to release a study that examines these problems. This study, which was generated by MindReader, gives an outline of issues like skills shortages and mismatches, recruitment issues, retention issues and other problems facing B.C. businesses.

In 2016, Venture Kamloops completed a labour market study that identified similar trends as the aforementioned report released by the BC Chamber of Commerce. That study was the beginning of the Labour Attraction Partnership Project, which was put in place to provide employers in the Kamloops region strategies to address challenges with hiring and keeping employees.
