"Move to Kamloops" Testimonials

"Living our Best Life in Kamloops British Columbia - The City of Kamloops is large enough without being too big and crowded. We were looking for open space, rivers and lakes. It is just fantastic to find that skiing, camping; mountain biking and other outdoor pursuits are on our ‘doorstep’ or within driving distance of ten to twenty minutes. Having a small family with a child of 8 years we wanted a sense of community, and good schools. As skilled professionals we wanted a place where work was available, with good access to larger cities. Kamloops provides all of this and more for us. We believe that for couples and single people looking for quality of life. Kamloops is one of Canada’s ‘Best Kept Secrets’.
There is so much energy and drive in the business community in Kamloops. I love being part of this growing ‘Economic Hub’ of the Interior of British Columbia. My company, SPH Consultancy contributes to economic analysis and support businesses to fully release their potential in this diverse economy."

Shirley Palmer-Hunt, her husband Chris and their son relocated to Kamloops from England, United Kingdom.

  Lifestyle

"I arrived in Canada 47 years ago from Germany and lives in many places in Western Canada. As a forester, I was transferred to Kamloops in 1978. Within a few months of living here, I knew this was the place to stay. Kamloops has more to offer than any other city its size. If you like culture, we have culture (including a symphony orchestra, a theatre company and a university). We have many sport facilities, but Kamloops really shines when it comes to outdoor activities. We have large open spaces for horseback riding, many lakes and rivers for water-sports and fishing, we have mountains for x-country skiing and the best downhill ski area in the Interior at Sun Peaks. On weekends you can hike, bike, or ride all within 30 minutes from a cultured city, and mostly in the sunshine. I have guided many German tourists through this area and know how impressed they are with Kamloops as a place to visit." - Wally Sinnemann

- Wally Sinnemann
