For companies that are looking to expand or scale up their services, finding the resources or the funding can often be difficult. If you are a business that is looking to expand, scale up, improve productivity or incorporate technology commercialization into their operations, the Business Scale-up and Productivity (BSP) program stream may be right for you.
The BSP program stream is being delivered by Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) in order to place a greater emphasis on helping firms expand and place a higher priority on certain areas of productivity. According to the Government of Canada, the BSP program’s overall objectives are to:
- help firms with high growth potential to scale up and expand
- support demonstration and the commercialization of new technologies
- encourage the early adoption or adaptation of leading-edge technologiesand processes to improve productivity
- increase businesses’ capacity to grow through market diversificationand entry into global markets
The program is aiming at assisting SMEs (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises) with less than 500 employees that have been operating in Canada for at least 2 years. It aims to provides repayable, interest-free funding to firms that are initiating business growth or expansion opportunities.
