Our Mission Statement

As the economic development organization for the City of Kamloops, Venture Kamloops’ focus is just that, economic development. The team works to provide the most up-to-date information to those interested in starting their business in Kamloops or expanding operations into the city.

Venture Kamloops’ mission is to create economic growth to establish the city as the premiere location for business development. This is done by featuring the city’s resources and offering comprehensive information plus a full spectrum of support services to investors and entrepreneurs. All of the services provided are complimentary, confidential and come with no obligation.

Meet Our Team

Jim Anderson
Executive Director

As Executive Director, Jim is responsible for developing, fostering and maintaining excellent working relationships with all levels of government, community and business groups. He maintains a strategic involvement with senior staff of key Venture Kamloops partners to develop and foster economic development in Kamloops. Jim is also responsible for the financial and administrative service delivery and provides support to the Venture Kamloops staff in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Nicole Bruce
Economic Development Manager

Our Economic Development Manager is responsible for promoting Kamloops as a business-friendly community and assisting interested businesses in relocating or expanding into Kamloops.

Nji Mbitaownu
Economic Development Specialist

As an Economic Development Specialist, Nji works on initiatives and programs focused on business attraction, expansion, and retention. With a strong background in entrepreneurship development, Nji is particularly interested in working with early-stage businesses, helping them navigate challenges, access resources, and scale effectively within Kamloops.

Samiul (Sam) Khan
Economic Development Specialist

As an Economic Development Specialist, Samiul (Sam) supports initiatives focused on business attraction, expansion, and retention. With experience in post-secondary engagement, Sam takes a “meet businesses where they are” approach, working alongside entrepreneurs to navigate challenges, connect to resources, and grow within Kamloops. He is known as a connector, bringing together businesses, institutions, and community partners to support sustainable growth.

Cindy Dueck
Office Manager

As Office Manager, Cindy is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Venture Kamloops office. She is usually the first point of contact for all inquiries, and is always pleased to assist and direct people to the appropriate Venture Kamloops staff member.
