Living Bridges Therapy CollectiveVK Venture Advisors

Founded in 2011, Living Bridges Therapy Collective has grown from a small grief support practice into a vital mental health resource in Kamloops. Recognizing the gaps in mental health services, the team expanded to provide trauma support, addiction counseling, and other critical services aimed at removing barriers to care. Their participation in the VK Advisors Program helped them streamline operations, overhaul financial management, and formalize a nonprofit foundation to extend their impact. “We were catapulted forward after our advisor luncheon, making significant business and structural changes that have allowed us to serve our community more effectively,” shared Tara Caffelle, co-partner of Living Bridges Therapy Collective.

Beyond counseling, Living Bridges Therapy Collective is deeply involved in community advocacy and partnerships. They work closely with Indigenous communities, local businesses, and other organizations to strengthen access to trauma-informed care. Their newly incorporated nonprofit aims to establish a trauma treatment center, focusing on removing barriers to mental health support. “We don’t just provide services—we actively work to build a healthier, more resilient society,” said co-partner Tennille Phipps. Their commitment extends to training and mentoring future professionals, ensuring sustainable, community-driven solutions.

As Living Bridges Therapy Collective looks to the future, they remain focused on thoughtful, intentional growth. “We’ve learned to pace ourselves, focus on infrastructure, and ensure our team aligns with our vision,” Tara explained. With plans to expand their teaching programs and deepen community ties, the organization is set to become a cornerstone of mental health support in Kamloops. Their advice to aspiring entrepreneurs? “Know your value, seek mentorship, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You don’t have to do it alone.”

2011 Began as a mobile service with Mary making home visits for grief support and celebrant work.
